Finding free images for your blog, presentation and project can be a hassle. Here are some ways to find free images. Most of the sites provide photos that can be used for any purpose, private or commercial.

These are the ones with the best photos and the least confusing license agreements.

Burning Well

At Burning Well you can browse and search a large collection of images donated by photographers from around the world. All images are in the public domain, so you are allowed to use them freely for any purpose, commercial or private.

Everystockphoto.com
On Everystockphoto.com you can browse or search 12,263,074 free photos. The photos come from many sources and are license-specific. You can view a photo’s license by clicking on the license icon, below and left of photos.

Flickr
Many photographers on Yahoo’s popular photo sharing service Flickr tag their photos with Creative Commons licenses. Millions and millions of photos are available in Flickr’s Creative Commons repository. There are different Creative Commons licenses, some of which restrict the use of the photo to non commercial use. Here is an explanation of the different Creative Commons licenses.

FreeFoto.com is made up of 132,413 images with 182 sections organized into 3636 categories. The photos are free to use however you like, but a link back and attribution are required.
