To provide feedback Facebook is inviting more Pages on recent updates it has made to Page Insights.

Facebook said in a blog post – “We heard from many Page admins that they want more insight into the actions that make up PTAT (People Talking About This), For instance, how people’s liking their business Page differs from people’s interacting with their posts. For this reason, we’re breaking out PTAT into elements that will now be reported separately as Page Likes, People Engaged (the number of unique people who have clicked on, liked, commented on, or shared your posts), Page tags and mentions, Page checkins, and other interactions on a Page. PTAT as a combined metric will still be available for Page admins not participating in the new Insights preview.”

The company also included in his talk like in Page Insights the virality metric is regularly used as a benchmark for Page post quality. In its measurement however, this metric does not take in clicks like in providing marketers with metrics around overall post quality, it is a strong indicator of positive post engagement and a key piece. To ‘engagement rate thus company is including clicks in this metric and renaming ‘virality”.

A new carousel feature for local search is announced by Google today. It seems like the just previous redesigned Knowledge Graph carousel but different as it has local businesses and their Zagat scores.

“Give it a go—type or say “mexican restaurants,” or try any similar search for restaurants, bars or hotels. Click on one of the places in the carousel to get more details on it, including its overall review-based score, address and photos. If you want to see more places, click the arrow at the right of the carousel. And you can zoom in on the map that appears below the carousel to restrict your search to only places in a specific area.” – Said by Google in a blog post.

For local businesses this feature could be good that do not essentially rank at the top of local results, as it includes more advantages on the page, and supports users to scroll throughout them.

A quite a few changes have been made to Google image search. The major redesign that was which photographers and webmasters have been less than thrilled with, that was launched previously this year.

Google assumed that the modifications would probable increase clicks to sites, but a lot of have pointed that they are doing practice quite the opposite. Google has also made some changes to its techniques to handle SafeSearch.

A new personalized photo search feature was added by Google previous month.  For allowing users to find their personal photos simply from a regular Google web search. To find animated GIFs they as well newly made it easier.

Google has wrote in a blog post – “Let’s say you’re planning a trip to Maui and want to see images of the beaches so you can visit the best ones,Try using Google’s related images at the top of the results and you can find the most relevant pictures for your destination. A search for [maui beaches] will show you tons of gorgeous beaches, but checking out those related images at the top of the results like Black Rock, Makena and Maui Beaches Maps will help you see more specific results. When you click on the related images query, you’ll see a snapshot of the results and you can click View all images to see even more and visit their sites to learn more.”

To spotlight on Image-related searches Google is placing a great deal, these days. Noe an additional change to Image Search has been made, with the addition of a visual “related searches” carousel showing at the top of some image search results.

Making A Comeback From Penguin 2.0

Posted by peterzmijewski | Filed under Internet Marketing

Peter Zmijewski - Founder of Keywordspy

Peter Zmijewski - Founder of Keywordspy

For the around 2.3 regular US-English queries that it may possibly affect, a lot of SEOs have been waiting to view if the traffic to the site is to be negatively affected.

While a lot of black-hat practitioners affected by Penguin 1.0 may only hope that rankings would not plunge further into obscure depths, the rest of us are crossing our fingers, hoping that we come out of it relatively unscathed.

But if your site has been affected by Penguin 2.9 there are a couple of things you may do to make sure that your site is back on the right path. And keep in mind: most of positive comebacks coming from Google algorithm updates would be from sites that really want to prove the best possible website for users in place of those looking to skirt by till the next Google animal is unleashed.

If you had been affected by Penguin 2.0, keep on reading. As the community of SEO does tests and gets more information regarding specifics of Penguin 2.0 collective knowledge of the update could evolve. For now, should you be hit and would like to look for answers, here’s what you must know:

A. Learn from Mistakes

The past Google algorithm updates have informed us what Google wants, which is awesome content, natural link profiles (both inbound and outbound) plus an organic, natural link velocity that would steadily increase monthly. Should you have been penalized by past Panda or Penguin updates, it would be time to do changes necessary to be redeemed by Google.

If Panda and Penguin 1.0 were hand slaps, then you have to regard 2.0 as the wake-up you need to get the site fully back on track. The following updates have to be stringent, so make big content-focused changes, so that you prevent further lost traffic in the future.

B. Stop Practices That Are Shady

A very crucial step toward recovering from Penguin 2.0 would be to stop all shady practices as determined by Google. This would include unnatural link making, and spammy or keyword-stuffed onsite content.

Aside from looking for these kinds of black hat practices, Google would be getting better at recognizing when sites try to be deceitful, notably when it would come to centering on typically spammy search queries, getting sites that would be taking place in link swapping schemes, plus content which would contain keyword stuffing or links that are unnatural. The easiest way to recover from Penguin 2.0 would be to stop these kinds of practices altogether.

C. Gather the Pieces

The connection between destruction and normalcy would be the recovery phase, which could take weeks or months, depending on the site and level of black hat SEO practices Google thought they were involved with.

Should you think that your site has been penalized due to shady link building methods, you would have to spot the links that are harming you, and then try to have them removed. Any links you fail to have removed, make sure you disavow. A professional may do a link profile audit to spot harmful links for you.

Besides making an attempt to clean up the profile for external links, you should also perform a comprehensive audit of all pages on the site, making a list of what you have to perform internally. Do work on publishing just high quality content that would give value to the reader and would incorporate just natural anchor text and useful internal linking. Ensure that you would set up in a right manner for Google Authorship, and do not use keyword stuffing or unnatural language that could make Google think you would be attempting to make content appear to be something it would be not. Make sure you pinpoint authoritative keywords in the few ones that you intend to use, by looking to tools like KeywordSpy.

D. Do Best Practices

One you have started to clean the damage, it would be time to make a plan moving forward. This has the recovery plan, depending on how extensive the site is, which would include targeted goals for reviewing all site content or steady taking out of any lingering inbound links gotten via black-hat methods.

After such goals are set, the emphasis would have to be on strictly implementing best practices for all future sites plus content creation. All content and website links would:

1) Utilize natural language

2) Use natural anchor text, and only when it gives value

3) Center on giving the highest quality content

4) Make value for humans instead of the search engines

5) Would not have black hat SEO practices

The SEO team would need to collaborate with the content developers to flip the focus and message back onto providing quality over quantity, as well as a natural variety across content platforms.

For a lot of SEOs who worked in the era where anything goes, these algorithm updates would be an unsettling change that has been hard to learn. But when it would come to SEO, websites would have to take on adapt or die thought, as search engines would become more intuitive as both what a user would be looking for online, plus the quality of the sites that have to provide it.

Yahoo is rolling out a new update for its search results pages. A somewhat Google-like navigation bar included in this.

Yahoo’s SVP, Search Laurie Mann says – “When it comes to search, nothing should stand between you and your results, that’s why we’ve placed search results higher on the page. And thanks to some under-the-hood performance improvements, many of you will notice that the page also loads faster And, if you’re thinking that the new Yahoo! search results page looks familiar, there’s a good reason why – the design is consistent with our new Yahoo! homepage,

It seems like navigation bar looks recognizable like when it’s not black, looks like a great deal like Google’s, which shows crossways multiple Google properties. For a similar approach Yahoo is going.

It will include Tumblr also.  Google navigation bar is not yet added to You Tube regardless of enlarged connection over the years to Google profiles.

Digital Analytics is Getting Change Forever

Professional Internet Marketing GURU

Professional Internet Marketing GURU

If you want to done your digital analytics in your past way just start it. As we know everyone is measuring everything. Like with the desktop means “web” and add “mobile” means several things not very well-defined and also euphemistically referred to as “unstructured data” or social media. After that like Salesforce add census or other data; CRM other than ad network data; geographic data; add in revenue data; add any data from any tool that has an API or SDK and CDNs; predictive models this all will show you meaning of “everything.

Nowadays TV is just like another IP address-driven content container. People still love television. It’s attractive and convincing in ways that websites and apps never will be. It’s the movies. Nobody likes surveillance, Privacy may be dead.

As we know Marketers are not classically agitated for data. Measurement has soiled on them and they have squeezed it; and some of the supplest and forward-thinking have made large wins with data-driven decision-making but only while we come to dash of campaign attribution and web analytics.

Marketers will discover themselves boiling in a rather hot sweatbox, penned in by data scientists by means of latest tools that until lately were far too hard to build and too luxurious to buy apart from for the very major and most data-intensive organizations.

Know What Cutts Says About Penguin Design

Posted by peterzmijewski | Filed under Internet Marketing

Peter Zmijewski

Peter Zmijewski

Webmaster Help video posted by Google today in which Matt Cutts is talking about “misconceptions” in the SEO industry.

In his talk he included Like Panda and Penguin Google does not make changes to its algorithm, in arrange to generate more revenue for itself. On design there should be more focus on and also than link building on user experience and should try to please search engines.

Matt clear that lots of people are confused about algorithm update and a data refresh, they are common terms associated with Panda and Penguin.

He says – “The difference between an algorithm update versus just a data refresh – when you’re changing your algorithm, the signals that you’re using and how you weight those signals are fundamentally changing, When you’re doing just a data refresh, then the way that you run your computer program stays the same, but you might have different incoming data. You might refresh the data that the algorithm is using. That’s something that a lot of people just don’t seem to necessarily get.”

People are thinking how to build more links they do not take interest about grander, global picture. Matt includes like there should be focus on what makes it compelling? What makes it interesting? What makes it fun?

Cutt Adds – “A lot of people think about, ‘How do I build more links?’ and they dont’ think about the grander, global picture of, ‘How do I make something compelling, and then how do I make sure that I market it well?’ You know, you get too focused on search engines, and then you, for example, would entirely miss social media and social media marketing. And that’s a great way to get out in front of people. So, specifically, I would think, just like Google does, about the user experience of your site. What makes it compelling? What makes it interesting? What makes it fun? Because if you look at the history of sites that have done relatively well or businesses that are doing well now…you can take anywhere from Instagram to Path – even Twitter…there’s a cool app called YardSale, and what those guys try to do is they make design a fundamental piece of why their site is advantageous to go to. It’s a great experience. People enjoy that.”
